College of Nursing Library

The College of Nursing boasts an impressive collection of nursing books, journals, reference materials, and audiovisual aids. Most of the books and journals are available in English. The library offers the following services: borrowing and photocopying, interlibrary loans, reference services, database use, internet access, microfilm, and viewing facilities for scientific and nursing films. The library also has a computer room for faculty and students. Used to conduct research utilizing different databases and research lines.

Library Regulations

  1. The documents required to apply for a library card are a copy of the student’s timetable, two passport-size photographs, the original civil ID, and a copy of it.
  2. Students can borrow up to three items for one week, renewable for an additional week.
  3. Fines for overdue books are levied at a rate of 100 fils per item, which doubles for each additional day the book is overdue. Therefore, the fine is 100 fils per item for the first day, 200 fils per item for the second day, 400 fils for the third day, 800 fils for the fourth day, and so on.
  4. In the event of loss or damage to a boom or other item, students are required to pay the cost of the item plus 20% of its value to cover administrative expenses.
  5. In the event of a lost library card, clearance must be obtained from all colleges of PAAET. The student must pay KD 2 for a replacement card in the event of the first card loss and KD 4 on the second occasion. In the event of a third loss of the library card, the student will be deprived of borrowing privileges for one semester.
  6. Eating and drinking in the library is strictly forbidden.

Photocopying and Stationery

The College provides student photocopying services at reasonable prices in the College Library and Student Center. The Student Center also offers typing and binding services, as well as sells stationery and other office supplies.

Computer Center and Libra Net

Well-equipped computer laboratories provide training and support to students and staff. There is a plan to incorporate facilities for telecommunication and video-conferencing services, as well as Libra Net.

Four computer laboratories in each building of the College of Nursing are available for student use outside regular teaching hours. They are equipped with computers used for teaching computer courses. They have “help desks” that assist staff and students in utilizing the available technological infrastructure effectively.

Electronic Student Services, E-advisor, and SMART PAAET

Electronic Student Services offers students a range of services, including, but not limited to, issuing student IDs, registration, application for social allowances, and Transportation to college.

SMART PAAET is a mobile application available on the App Store and Google Play. Students and faculty could access campus information, news, rules, and regulations in a single click.

E-advisor is another program that provides academic guidance to students and faculty. It is available in both online and mobile application modes, monitors a student's educational progress, helps students choose courses to register for each semester, and provides the projected grade required for students to graduate.
