1. Mechanical operation for cooling water pumping station
The program aims to prepare technicians capable of operating and monitoring cooling water pumping stations in the industrial area of Shuaiba and affiliated to the Public Authority for Industry, by chemically treating it before pumping and operating pumps for drawing water from the sea and then pumping it into the pipeline network, as well as operating Auxiliary equipment and accessories of the pumping station.

2. Water Network Maintenance Program
The program aims to prepare technicians capable of installing and maintaining water distribution networks spread throughout the State of Kuwait, as well as the accessories of this network such as pumps, valves, measuring and control devices, and carrying out inspections, identifying faults and carryout different maintenance procedures for pumping stations and water networks and their accessories.
A. Program Educational Objectives.
The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) support the mission of the institution
The Water Network Maintenance Program at HIE expects the graduates within a few years (2-3 years) of graduation to attain the following
1. Be effective in the design, maintenance and supervise the installation of water networks with application of up-to-date engineering technology and to highest quality
2. Effectively work within team, cooperate, communicate, show flexibility, and demonstrate ethical behavior
3. An ability to apply engineering knowledge, up-to-date technology and utilize modern tools to identify, analyze and solve technical problems
B. Student Outcomes
As part of the continues improvement of the program outcomes and objectives and to get closer to the ABET ETAC accreditation requirement the department decided in 2012 to adapt the same student outcomes as listed in ABET student outcomes criterion 3 namely :
1. An ability to apply the knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of the discipline to narrowly defined engineering technology activities
2. An ability to apply a knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to engineering technology problems that require limited application of principles but extensive practical knowledge
3. An ability to conduct standard tests and measurements, and to conduct, analyze, and interpret experiments
4. An ability to function effectively as a member of a technical team
5. An ability to identify, analyze, and solve narrowly defined engineering technology problems

This program aims to prepare technicians capable of maintaining desalination units utilizing multi stage flash distillation system (MSF) as well as desalination units that operate under the theory of reverse osmosis (RO) to produce distilled water, which are distributed throughout the State of Kuwait, as well as examination, maintenance and control of distillation units and equipment Assistance and systems attached to these stations.
